“SAINT JOSEPH” HOUSE

In Romania there hasn't been solved legally and morally yet the problem of the children coming from disposal centers-abandoned or orphans. Being looked on from an early age, these children at the age of 18-19 find themselves without protection, support, a job, a place where to live and many cases without any documents which would certify their identity.

Yearly 20 young people come from the institution, who are orphans and they are not integrated in different families.

They want to work, to have a family too, to be a useful society members.

The existing beneficiaries of the project come from disposal centers, their age vary between 21 and 26 years old, some of them work for different firms from the town having a little work experience because the length of their service doesn't exceeds a year and a half. Those who hasn't got a job or some of them want to supplement their wages, under the guidance of a master, make natural broomsticks, in the protected workshop of the orphanage.

Within the project, being looked on by qualified staff

( welfare worker and psychologist),they learn manners and the independent lifestyle, through the programs, without being neglected the spiritual life, under the attentive guidance of the project's coordinator, theolog.

As food and maintenance are provided for them, they manage to save a part of their salary, thus when leaving the house they should have support. They are eager to lead an independent life, but the rent would mean one third of their monthly income, which frightens them.
